Hello, you may have seen me here at Feldspar Studio & Gallery. I know you are so used to seeing Anna all the time, and that I might be a surprise. Let me introduce myself, my name is Jill O’Connor and I am the new gallery manager here at Feldspar. I’ll tell you a bit about me and my background in art; I have an M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Art an M.A. in Museum Studies and am currently working on my PhD in Visual Theory in a low residency program. I was also named the 2017 Duchamp Research Scholar by the State Museum Schwerin in Schwerin, Germany. I moved here from Pennsylvania, specifically to take this position. You’re probably wondering why and if Pennsylvania has art galleries (by the way, it does).
The reason I moved here to work at Feldspar Gallery is easy. It was Anna’s ad that made me want to apply for the position; specifically it was one word she used: integrity. After speaking with Anna then finally meeting her, I realized that integrity was not only what she was looking for in an employee but something that was inherent to her and her vision of the gallery.
Feldspar Studio & Gallery is different. It is an inviting friendly environment filled with warmth and hospitality. The gallery also emphasizes its commitment to treating artists fairly, not as commodities; their value comes from their aesthetic contribution to the world around us. Anna and the artists she has chosen to represent are all committed to creating high quality one-of-a-kind work. Each one is devoted to their craft and always produces the highest quality work, which it is our pleasure to bring to you.
It is also our pleasure to bring you some news. If you are reading this then you know that we now have a blog! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. We are going to focus on a variety of art topics and hopefully engage in some amazing discussions because I would love for you to post your comments and questions.
Finally, we are going to start offering some really wonderful services such as art advising, collection management, and a concierge service.
