Kirsten Bowen

Venetian Plaster on Canvas

Kirsten Bowen is an Ohio born artist and a graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design, currently living and working in New York City. Her artwork can be found in corporate and private collections worldwide, and has been featured in multiple museum exhibitions. The goal of her work is to interpret a wide range of literary expression through visual art, thereby adding a new dimension to painting. The literal content includes lyrics, poetry and prayer on the deep and soulful side, and schedules, artificial ingredients, and side effects on the quirky side. Using "Venetian Fresco" a technique she developed by directly coloring Venetian plasters, rich textures are developed in the paintings. She hopes to engage buyers in a visual and intellectual way, and provide a conversation piece they can share with friends and visitors to their office and home.
